ANNAPOLIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL’S ANNUAL CAREER DAY (DESTINATION DAY)

AES ANNUAL CAREER DAY–what a wonderful event to open up kids to ALL the wonderful options they have ahead of them! 

Thanks to Andrea Beckman, M.Ed, School Counselor & Treasure Hunter—JNP was invited to speak to Mrs. Kreunen’s 4th grade class. 

The kids were so excited and engaged as we sat in a circle on a fun carpet in the classroom. We talked about “our INNER AWESOME” and what we were all made up of. The kids told me about their best qualities as we looked at Jane & Jake’s Adventure books on what Oracle was teaching Jane and Jake.

After our conversation, I had them repeating: I AM. I CAN. I WILL. EMPOWERED. It was awesome how they were engaged, and smiled when they told themselves “they can be empowered!”

I gave the kids the opportunity to draw and color either Oracle, Jane or Jake; surprisingly, boys didn’t all take Jake and girls didn’t all take Jane—it was a nice mix of which character each child was drawn to.

Thanks! to Ms. Jenny Keenan, AES School Librarian—JNP has been invited back to do readings at the school library!

And, thank you to AES Principal, Julia R. Walsh, for taking the BOOMERANG IT! CHALLENGE and getting her students engaged in doing Good ACTS OF… (good deeds) to others…and keeping it going…
