#22: BRAND SONIFICATION–Music Counts.

JNP-Music-Empowered

Do you find yourself remembering/singing/humming a musical [business/merchandise] jingle? I always do. That’s a business’ brand sonification; a music branding auditory experience. JNP would not be without one—we want adults and kids to remember us with a fun jingle/melody….and, a fun experience to connect to emotionally!

Sonification is the use of non-speech audio to convey information or perceptualize data: auditory perception = sound branding = repeat brand recognition.

Let me share with you, The JNP Project’s initial building of our sound library—we have several levels of music/sounds/sonificaiton branding being developed now going forward:

• BUMPER: we initiate the ‘listeners’ experience with a short ‘bumper’ when you land on our website home page: this fun, specific sound for 5 notes will be our short music brand bumper for any interactive medium/product (e.g., the beginning of each storybook).

• THEME SONG: our theme song tells the story of the JNP Brand Mission in a very fun, and unforgettable song. All interactive books will house the song, as well as the ability to play it through the Home page of our website.Screen Shot 2014-05-10 at 8.38.11 PM(PLAY THE SONG: top right column link  on this page)

• SOUND LIBRARY: we are developing a library of notes and sounds—each specific sound will be recognizable to a specific character; the lead characters will have several sounds which reflect different moods/actions.

• DITTY RAP SONGS: we are developing a short 45 second rap ditty [based on the wisdom ditties in each story delivered by Oracle, a not-so-ordinary gold fish] for each of the books.

All of the sound branding and music we have, and continue to develop, will be offered on the website (to listen to and download) in our interactive ebooks and with our Parents and Educator Resource Kits.

Sound and music is just as important to the visual brands. Remember that as you develop your business plan, and assemble your budget—if your brand warrants sound recognition—make sure you build that experience for your customer; it will pay off in the end, bringing your customer to recognize who you are, and become loyal to your brand.

Note: This Blog is a chronological diary of a start-up-company—The JNP Project’s Journey—reading it from the start, will broaden your understanding of the path we are on, together, and hopefully, positively influence you in some way!

FYI Tip: Research and listen to samples of vendor/mixer’s work—choosing the right vendor up front makes for a long and successful business relationship with a constant music sonification brand sound.
