#33: CHARACTER COLOR PALETTES

Corporate identity COLOR STANDARDS is applied to more than just your logo and typefonts; character images can be branded as well—just as we all have a unique human brand image, The JNP Project’s main cast of characters each have their own color identifying brand.

COLOR PALETTES are an essential anchor tying together your visual recognition image—every color elicits a different response (or feeling) from your viewer. We decided to create specific color palettes for each of our three main characters which would be used in a graphic manor—punches of solid color—boom…a framed eye grabber of colors that surrounded the faces. This palette was derived from our initial secondary color palette—again, as I have spoke of in previous blogs, we are keeping to the main primary and secondary palettes for ALL our graphic applications.

Even though these characters are not “cartoons” per say, they are humanistic in nature and the kids in the adventure series will be created in a 10-scale-moca-rainbow of outer skin canvas textures, and we will be using graphic applications that will give each character his/her unique visual color brand.

How cool is this: just as we have given Jane, Jake and Oracle an individual color brand, check out some of history’s favorite cartoon characters, as their “exterior images” are so wonderfully, uniquely colorful…

Note: This Blog is a chronological diary of a start-up-company—The JNP Project’s Journey—reading it from the start, will broaden your understanding of the path we are on, together, and hopefully, positively influence you in some way!

FYI Tip: Color is vital to “who you are.” Make it count.
